GripTek combines objective slip testing with a professionally selected micro-etch treatment. Rather than applying a clear coating over the floor, the solution microscopically alters the existing surface to create additional grip.

Wet-pendulum testing measures the friction performance of a hard surface. For compliance and duty-of-care work, results can be assessed against the relevant Australian framework, including AS 4586 for new surfaces and AS 4663 for existing pedestrian surfaces.

Can you treat tiles that are slippery when wet?
We can assess wet tiles and other suitable hard floors for GripTek treatment. Tell us where the floor is and when it becomes slippery. We’ll check the material, surface condition and use before recommending treatment.
Is GripTek a coating, and will it change the look?
GripTek uses a micro-etch treatment to alter the surface, rather than adding a clear coating over it. The manufacturer describes minimal change to the dry appearance. We assess your particular material and discuss the finish before proceeding.
Can GripTek be used around pools or in bathrooms?
Pool surrounds, bathrooms and other wet areas are possible applications, subject to assessment. Ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and concrete need the right treatment for the surface and its use. Send photos and your suburb so we can discuss the area.
Do I need a slip test as well as treatment?
A slip test measures the floor’s performance; treatment changes the surface. For a commercial job, discuss the testing and reporting required for your setting before booking. A treatment name on its own does not establish that every floor meets its required rating.

How long will the floor be out of use?
GripTek states that floors can return to use once the treatment process is complete. The overall job also involves preparation and any testing. We’ll confirm the timing for your site before work starts, especially where customers or residents need access.
Does a treated floor still need regular cleaning?
Yes. Grease, soap and dirt still need to be removed. We’ll discuss suitable maintenance for your floor, and any follow-up testing needed as conditions change. Anti-slip treatment does not replace ongoing cleaning and sensible management of wet areas.
