Stone restoration and polishing across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. We assess dull floors, scratched granite, etched marble and worn terrazzo, then recommend honing, polishing or repairs to suit the material and damage.
A second life
Worn stone is not necessarily ruined stone.
Everyday traffic, grit, spills and cleaning products gradually change the way a stone surface reflects light. Benchtops become cloudy. Floors develop traffic lanes. Fine scratches multiply until the whole installation feels dull and lifeless.
True restoration works with the stone—not over it. By removing only the damaged surface layer and progressively refining the material, we can recover a consistent honed, satin or polished finish without the disruption and waste of replacement.

Restoration does not cover scratches with a temporary shine. Successive abrasive stages remove the damaged surface and replace coarse scratch patterns with increasingly finer ones.

What we correct
Damage has a depth.
The correct treatment depends on whether the issue sits on the stone, inside its pores or within the surface itself. Assessment prevents unnecessary grinding and unrealistic promises.
Scratches
Fine traffic wear or deeper lines that interrupt an otherwise even finish.
Lippage
Uneven tile edges that catch light, dirt and foot traffic.
Dullness
A tired, lifeless appearance caused by abrasion and inconsistent wear.
Chips + holes
Localised damage, open travertine voids and failed previous repairs.
Staining
Oil, moisture or organic matter absorbed beneath the surface.

Primary restoration method
Diamond grinding & honing
Industrial diamond pads progressively remove a microscopic layer of damaged stone. Each finer grit erases the scratch pattern from the stage before it, allowing us to correct wear rather than disguise it.
Best suited to
Deep scratches, etching, lippage, worn floors and major finish correction.

Final refinement
Polishing powders & compounds
Very fine aluminium or tin oxide compounds are worked into suitable stone with water to create a controlled polishing slurry. On marble and similar stones, this can be combined with a chemical reaction to develop clarity and shine.
Best suited to
Refining honed calcite stone and restoring the final polished appearance.

Special-case treatment
Topical coatings
Wax, acrylic, urethane and other polymers create an artificial surface film. They can alter appearance and require ongoing stripping or recoating, so we only consider them where the substrate and use genuinely call for a topical system.
Best suited to
Selected surfaces where a sacrificial film is specified—not a substitute for true stone restoration.

High gloss is not always the goal. We can recreate an understated honed finish, develop a soft satin sheen or return suitable stone to a clear polish. The best choice balances design intent, slip considerations, traffic and realistic maintenance.

Can granite and terrazzo floors be polished?
Both can be assessed for honing and polishing, but they need a process matched to the material and existing finish. Send photos of the floor or benchtop, including the worn area, and tell us your suburb. We’ll discuss whether cleaning, polishing or a more involved restoration is appropriate.
Is the cloudy mark on my marble a stain or an etch?
A stain changes the colour of the stone; an etch changes the surface finish and often looks dull. Both can occur in the same spot. Send a close-up and a wider photo, and tell us what was spilled so we can assess it.

Cleaning removes dirt and residue. Scratches and wear may need honing or polishing instead. We inspect the finish before recommending work, rather than treating every dull surface as a cleaning job.
Can stone be restored instead of replaced?
Many worn surfaces can be assessed for restoration. The right approach depends on the material, depth of damage and any previous repairs. Photos are a useful starting point; we’ll explain the scope and limitations before you decide.
Can you remove every stain from stone?
Not every stain can be fully removed. Some are deep-seated or have permanently affected the stone. Knowing what caused the mark and how long it has been there helps us choose the next step.
