Not a liquid sealer
A protective surface between life and stone.
Penetrating sealers can reduce absorption, but they cannot stop acidic substances from reacting with calcium-based stone. TuffSkin takes a different approach: a proprietary, optically clear polyester laminate is professionally adhered to the surface.
The film is liquid-impermeable yet gas-permeable, with a durable hard-coat surface and an adhesive developed specifically for stone. The protected material remains visible while common kitchen and bathroom hazards remain physically separated from it.

TuffSkin separates acid and alkaline spills from vulnerable marble, onyx, travertine and dolomite.
UV inhibitor
A built-in 99.9% UV inhibitor helps maintain optical clarity and reduce yellowing.
Heat resistant
Rated for heat up to 220°C. Cutting boards, placemats and trivets are still recommended.
Replaceable
If the film becomes worn or damaged, it can be removed and renewed without sacrificing the stone.
TuffSkin is scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof. Manufacturer care guidance recommends cutting boards, placemats and trivets.

TuffSkin is an installed system, not a DIY roll. Surface preparation, clean working conditions and detailed finishing determine how naturally it sits on the stone.

We inspect the stone, edges, existing damage and intended finish.
Prepare
The surface is cleaned and, where required, restored before protection.
Template
The film is precision-cut for the benchtop, splashback or waterfall edge.
Install
Your approved installer applies and finishes the film in a clean environment.

A typical residential kitchen is generally installed in about one day and can usually be used within two hours. Maximum adhesive bond develops over approximately 72 hours.
TuffSkin vs sealer

A penetrating sealer remains an excellent choice for many floors, walls and lower-risk surfaces. TuffSkin is designed for premium horizontal surfaces where etching or heavy exposure makes maximum protection the priority.

Protection backed by the manufacturer.
Warranty coverage depends on the product, setting and current distributor terms. The supplied Australian form states four years for interior domestic applications and three years for interior commercial applications, with registration, care and exclusions applying. We confirm the current terms for every project before installation.
Simple care
- Clean with a non-abrasive stone or glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
- Finish with a dry microfibre towel for a clear, streak-free surface.
- Use cutting boards and trivets; do not cut or place hot cookware directly on the film.
- Avoid abrasive creams, steel wool, razor blades and attempts to lift an edge.
